I discovered recently that lettuce is soporific, 'causing or tending to cause sleep'. This reminded me of peter rabbit and his friends who fall asleep cos they eat all of the farmers lettuce. Recenly, more than ever, things that happen in my day to day life are causing my mind to wander back to my own childhood and things which to be honest I thought I had forgotten. Just this week I was reminded of the joys of reading peakaboo whilst watching a mum and baby in the queue of a supermarket and then my friend posted online about her daughters first ballet lesson and my first thought was of the mouse Angelina Ballerina. I think this course is in fact causing me to regress rather than progress.

Today I have learnt to create and post my first blog. I am doing this for the purpose of improving my computer literacy and awareness so that in my professional life I am able to engage with the pupils with the technology of their generation. Basically I am terrified that the pupils are going to know, not just a bit more, but a lot more than I do and that my skills are going to be outdated before I even start.

I would love to hear any nice stories that anybody has about their own experiences of blogging, on any subjects, to reinforce the stories we are getting at uni, so that I can see how this technology impacts on different aspects of peoples lives.
