Today I have learnt to create and post my first blog. I am doing this for the purpose of improving my computer literacy and awareness so that in my professional life I am able to engage with the pupils with the technology of their generation. Basically I am terrified that the pupils are going to know, not just a bit more, but a lot more than I do and that my skills are going to be outdated before I even start.
I would love to hear any nice stories that anybody has about their own experiences of blogging, on any subjects, to reinforce the stories we are getting at uni, so that I can see how this technology impacts on different aspects of peoples lives.
Happy Blogging
Yaay go Sara!! At least your blog looks pretty and I am pretty sure you are better with ICT than I am :) x
ReplyDeleteI created my entire portfolio for placement as a blog, it made very accessible and much easier to carry around.
ReplyDeleteWorth acknowledging to your pupils that you are a lifelong learner and that you will learning new things throughout your career. There will be loads more that you bring to the classroom than your ICT competence (or lack thereof). For example, they may be a whizz at finding stuff on the Internet but you have the subject experience and skills to help them evaluate and make effective use what they have found.
